Stuart Zarich, MD, FACC

Stuart Zarich, MD, a board-certified cardiologist and chief of cardiovascular disease at Bridgeport Hospital, treats everyone as an individual with different wants and needs. Dr. Zarich’s passion for patient care shows in many ways, including his motto, to treat everyone as if they were a relative. He is also passionate about educating young doctors, a skill that has earned him teacher of the year recognition at Bridgeport Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Mass. His special interests include clinical cardiology, and metabolic disorders, including diabetes. He also specializes in echocardiography and has conducted and participated in major research trials.

Dr. Zarich earned his medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University, graduating magna cum laude. He completed his residency in internal medicine as chief resident and fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, part of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zarich spent time at the Joslin Diabetes Center and was a founder of the Institute for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases at Harvard University.

Dr. Zarich is an associate clinical professor of medicine at Yale University and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA) and American Society of Echocardiography (ASE). He has been honored as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor over 20 times. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, traveling, exercising and being outdoors. Dr. Zarich is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and echocardiography by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
