Visiting Hours & Guidelines

Visitors are expected to comply with Bridgeport Hospital’s visitation policy. Passes are issued at hospital entrances to everyone visiting inpatient units.

  • General Visiting hours: Speak with nursing staff or visit hospital website for most current information.
  • Specialty units: Hours may vary: please ask a staff member for details.
  • Visitation restrictions are sometimes put in place for the safety of patient, staff and visitors (i.e. flu season, pandemic).
  • Patients and visitors are expected to abide by the Statewide Code of Conduct Policy supporting a safe, supportive and equitable healing environment.

Masking: Currently, it is recommended but not required that patients and visitors wear a face mask. Patients are required to mask if they have a respiratory tract infection. Visitors with a possible respiratory tract infection are asked not to visit.

Important notice about visiting: Please do not visit if you have any symptoms of an infection, such as fever, rash, sneezing, sore throat, new or worsening cough, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. Any visitor exposed to chicken pox, tuberculosis, measles, mumps or any other infectious disease within the past three weeks should speak to the nurse before visiting.

Please call the Yale New Haven Health Patient Relations team at 203-384-3704 with any questions.
