About the Library

The Reeves Healths Sciences Library provides high quality medical, nursing, and allied health information resources in support of the education, research and patient care mission of Yale New Haven Health Bridgeport Hospital and the Yale New Haven Health System Care Signature.

Mission:

The Reeves Health Sciences Library provides evidence-based resources and services to support patient safety, patient care, clinical research, quality improvement, education for multidisciplinary teams, lifelong learning, and the Yale New Haven Health System Care Signature.

Policies

Borrowing Materials

Physicians, staff, and students with a valid Bridgeport Hospital ID may borrow library materials and are eligible for remote access to library databases.

Materials may be checked out during business hours.

Loan periods:

  • Textbooks - 30 days
  • Board review - 24 hours
Books acquired through interlibrary loan are subject to the borrowing terms of the lending institution. By using this service you agree to honor any fees charged by the lending institution for late returns, lost and/or damaged books.

Renewals

Library materials may be renewed in person. Items are renewed for 30 days unless otherwise noted. Please do not renew materials by phone or email. 

Returning Materials

All returned materials should be brought directly to the circulation desk during normal business hours.

Unreturned / Lost / Damaged Materials

Patrons will be billed for replacement materials six months overdue. Lost and damaged materials will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
