This unique Hospital Medicine Fellowship provides training in academic medicine, hospital administration and leadership skills.
The goal of fellowship is to train internal medicine or family medicine fellow to be leaders in the field of hospital medicine.
By the end of one year training the fellow should become a well-rounded physician and be a leader in academic hospital medicine. The fellow should have understanding of administrative and business aspect of hospital. The fellow should have an understanding of health care systems, should be able to identify current problems and sort out a solution for such problems. The fellow should be able to complete at least one clinical redesign project and produce scholarly work from the project.
Candidates for hospital medicine fellowship must have completed a residency in internal medicine or family medicine that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical education (ACGME) and be board eligible/board certified in internal medicine/family medicine.
