An Environmental Services associate, Flores has worked for the hospital for 22 years. “Luz is an outstanding team player,” her nominators write. “She keeps the department running and takes the initiative to improve things that can go more smoothly for staff or patients. She never misses a beat.”

Hall is a registered nurse in the Critical Care Resource Support Unit who has also been with the hospital for more than 20 years. “Shawna shares an exuberant greeting and friendly smile with each patient and team member,” state her nominators. “Her enthusiastic approach is contagious. She is empathetic and understanding with her colleagues, patients and visitors. Her outstanding people skills are well matched by her clinical skills.”

A Pharmacy technician, Martinez joined the hospital four years ago. “Dylcia is a wonderful team player,” according to her nominators. She is always willing to help others in the Pharmacy and on the nursing units at any time. She pitches in on any project presented to her. Her optimism and good cheer provide an important morale boost to the team.”

Employees of the Month receive a plaque, a pin and a letter of commendation, and are eligible to be named Employee of the Year in May 2013.
